PRODUCT CARE
Each product is made by hand, using ethically sourced, pre-consumer textiles that are discarded by the industry. These textiles are unsoiled and unused because they are 'unusable' by the industry due to slight wear-and-tear and weave and pattern defects. We source natural-fibre textiles as much as we can, although due to the sheer volume of discarded fabric that is amassed, we sometimes include material blends as linings and support fabrics to our products.
CUSHIONS & TABLE-LINEN
We recommend spot-cleaning for stains and dry-cleaning if absolutely required. A simple sunning on a terrace or air-drying at home will do to preserve the textile. Do not wash and iron only on low heat.
QUILTS
Quilts should be frequently aired in the sun and spot cleaned. Store in airy muslin or cotton bags or flat on a bed if possible. Quilts must be dry-cleaned every six to eight months.

MOOD
The Mundanad House is our first foray into designing custom textiles for a boutique hotel in India.
The brief for this project was to design textiles for the suites at this luxury boutique stay in Thiruvananthapuram. The restoration of this traditional family home in Kerala began with analyzing the structure and strengthening the foundations of the building. While exploring the idea of it being a heritage hotel, we were taken in by the colourful patterns of the ‘athangudi’ tiles, a traditional art form practiced in Chettinad at one time. We decided to use the flooring as our starting point for the collection, keeping the tones true to the architecture of the place.

THE PROCESS
Keeping the patterning of the floor as a central focus of the experience, the textiles were to gently borrow from this vernacular art form in colour and pattern. I used a combination of patchwork and traditional hand-done applique, keeping the patterns bold, simple and minimal. The colours we used are tan, mustard, sky blue, teal and confederate grey with a highlight of stripes for the edges. The fabrics are pure cotton so that they may be easily laundered.
